Our program meets quarterly with the Asheville Transformers group in a space where families can connect.  We host a social event where families, kids and teens, and nonbinary and transgender adults can share in some community, laughter, and fun. Contact our Support Programs Director, Mx. Tuesday Feral for more information on times, dates, locations and how to join us!

****DUE TO COVID-19 ALL IN-PERSON SOCIAL EVENTS ARE CURRENTLY POSTPONED****
There are a few virtual D&D campaigns happening, including a youth-only campaign, and a monthly support meeting for parents and guardians of nonbinary, trans, and/or gender expansive individuals of any age. If you are interested in joining please email [email protected] and let us know!

No doubt you’ve probably heard some concerning statistics about negative outcomes like increased rates of homelessness, unemployment, suicide attempts, and substance abuse for nonbinary and transgender individuals. Did you know that a supportive family is the most protective factor against these negative outcomes? In fact, it reduces them to essentially the same rate as the rest of the population! It’s clear that support and community for trans, nonbinary, and gender non-conforming youth (and adults) is essential to their well being. Of course their parents, family, and caregivers need support and community, too! Each quarter we have a meetup to make connections, share information and ideas, ask for advice, and be able to offer each other understanding and support.

There will be no gate-keeping, demands, or expectations about how you and your family navigate transition, just support and a listening ear. We are here to answer questions, offer information and support, and help you connect with other parents who are navigating similar situations, not push any agenda or expectations about what is right for your family. Bring your youth and let them enjoy the ease of socializing with other trans, nonbinary, and gender non-conforming youth and adults while you get a chance to connect with other parents, caregivers and nonbinary and trans adults from our community.

We also maintain a Facebook group where families can connect with each other and post updates, events, and information. This group is closed so no one outside of the group can see what is posted or who is a member of the group. Drop us an email if you’d like to be added to the group, or to join our mailing list and receive updates about our meetings and events if you don’t use Facebook or prefer not to join the group.
