
Tranzmission offers a free clothing closet at our office. We stock gently used clothing in a variety of sizes and styles, including gender-affirming garments, shoes, accessories, and more!
Our clothing closet and gender affirming garments program could not run without donations from generous folks like you. By donating your gently used clothing items you’re helping your community access free, clean clothing that can help them feel more like themselves and we greatly appreciate you!
What to know before you donate:
- Cleanliness. Wash or dry clean all items before donation to ensure they are fresh and presentable.
- Condition. Donate items that are in good, used condition, or better.
- Repairs. Address any minor issues like loose buttons or small tears before donation.
- Sorting. Separate clothing items by type (for example: shirts, pants, dresses) for easier sorting by our volunteers
What to donate:
- Clothing. Gently used clothing in good condition.
- Household items. Clean and in good condition (please check with staff before donating).
- Shoes. Clean, wearable shoes. Preferably larger (over size 9) “femme” shoes and smaller size (under size 9) “masc” shoes.
- Accessories. Belts, scarves, hats, bags, and jewelry in good condition.
- Undergarments. New underwear only. Gently used socks are ok.
- Gender affirming garments. We take binders that are new or in good, unstained, gently used condition, new gaffing garments of all sizes, and new binding and gaffing tapes.
What not to donate:
- Stained or damaged items. Avoid donating items that are broken, require extensive repairs or alterations, have stains, rips, or tears.
- Undergarments (used). We do not accept used undergarments for hygiene reasons.
- Items that are not clean. Please ensure all items are clean and free of odors.
