Tranzmission's mission is to make the lives of transgender, nonbinary, intersex, and gender diverse people happier, healthier, and safer through advocacy, education, and support.
Tranzmission has been dedicated to transgender/nonbinary empowerment since 2001. What started in the 90s as local trans community members helping each other with mutual aid efforts and support has become a regional organization that provides support, education, advocacy, community building, and organizing.
We are a trans-led organization with queer, disabled, and BIPOC leadership. We are intersectional, anti-racist, and anti-ableist. By pairing individual support with community action Tranzmission resources people in need and builds a community that can work towards a stronger future for everyone.
Our programming includes identity specific support groups, the Talya Mazuz Food Program & Pantry, name change assistance, specialized trans-affirming trainings, a gender-affirming clothing closet, a free library of books by/for/about trans people and social organizing, transitional housing assistance, an organizer’s lending library, and a variety of community events.
