Talya Mazuz Food Program & Pantry

Welcome to our pantry!

The Talya Mazuz Food Program and Pantry is focused on providing a safe gathering place for our transgender, nonbinary, intersex, and gender diverse community to access groceries. We are open to the general public once a week, regardless of identity.

In addition to food, we frequently offer hygiene products, safer-sex and harm reduction supplies, household goods, pet food, flowers, and other resources!

We do not require identification, legal name, income information, or citizenship documentation.

We are a MANNA Partner Agency. MANNA offers many other food access resources and helplines. They are here to help connect you to food!

Interested in shopping with us? You can access our weekly hours and location by emailing food@tranzmission.org. We keep our location and gathering times as private as possible.

Interested in donating goods or volunteering? Email food@tranzmission.org. We accept food donations that are unexpired and undamaged/unopened.

Food Resources in WNC

Namesake Story

The Talya Mazuz Food Pantry was named after Talya Mazuz, a person who so very deeply embodied a spirit of compassion and caring for all living beings. With a vibrant, creative sense of style, and a voice that so many of us loved to hear boldly and wholeheartedly singing the latest song they were mastering, Talya brought joy, care, support and connection into the lives of so many people, animals, and plants in Asheville and beyond. Talya was such a shining light and gentle spirit and everyone who was lucky enough to know them wishes they could have stayed with us much longer than they were able to.

Our hope is that folks can continue to find nourishment and support through this resource that honors Talya’s memory, and that their selfless love of all living beings can inspire us all to strive for more compassion and care in our interactions with others and ourselves.
